I had the opportunity, along with 3 other of my fellow MAAGCS Board Members, to represent GCSAA in the Rayburn Foyer yesterday and interact with tons of people. Very rewarding experience, and it was a very busy room all day besides lunchtime. We brought with us a variety of gadgets/info/turf stuff, including plugs from a putting green with macroscope, soil moisture meter, soil profilers with pushup vs. USGA green profiles, irrigation computer with as-build map book (that I use to scout dry/wet areas to create programs), irrigation radio, infrared thermometer, soil thermometer, pocket anemometer, stimpmeter, bags of different types of seed, book of soil tests, info on Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary program, USGA / Wildlife on golf course booklets, Environmental Principles of Golf stuff, etc. Plus, GCSAA supplied a DVD on autoplay on another laptop and flatscreen TV running EIFG/First Tee/green golf stuff. Great times!

Jon....great to hear!! Many many people were following and supporting National Golf Day and @wearegolf through social media trying to provide as much to support to you and other industry representatives on Capital Hill yesterday. It is great to see what you were able to demonstrate yesterday as many don't realize or just take for granted what we are able to accomplish as Superintendents. We thank you and the others for taking the time away from your property yesterday to provide the entire industry a voice.

Glad to see another site promoting the golf world. We need as much support as we can get. I worked in golf all my life and almost every job on the course. We have to get the word out for more people to take up the sport. Thank you We Are Golf and Turf Republic for helping bring attention to us.

In addition to wearegolf, this site is just what we need. Are you going to have Turfcentric Education too?

Thank you. We are looking to move forward and provide some opportunities that aren't currently offered across the entire turfgrass industry. We look forward to good conversation on the site to help provide real world solutions for those in the industry.

I work in both sports turf and golf. Similar practices. I support both.

Good point @jaredslawn! Do I see the beginnings of a National Turf Day?

The wearegolf program is great for golf. How about the rest of us like lawn and landscape or turf in general?

You make a great point and that is direction of Turf Republic. We are "Turfcentric" and we are hear to start giving a voice to those that don't have big support behind them. We will help be your voice and gain support.

National Golf Day is a good initiative for our industry. How can a regular super get involved at the course level and national level? I it would be great to be able to go to DC and meet with our reps on how important this industry is to the US economy.
