Does this schedule look an awful lot like yours? In our industry we do spend majority of our time at work. For those of us who have families, the time we spend with them is precious and we try to make every moment count with them. During the off-season months allow us to have the opportunity to reinforce our time with them is well-spent, because before you know it, they will be heading off to University.
Many of us moms who have a crazy schedule are like super-moms! On top of working in the turf industry, we are the schedulers, family accountants, chiefs, keeper of the clean clothes, house organizer and cleaner, chauffer, referees, councillors, gardeners, and the list goes on. Sometimes we are exhausted and emotionally drained from our day-to-day schedule; we aren’t always on our A-game. Focusing our time on our children is not as easy as it sounds. Sometimes our primary focus is being the provider (work-oriented) and raising the kids is secondary. Even when life gets a little overwhelming at times, prepare some family time. From game nights to a family-day adventure to playing one of those Minecraft games together, whatever you spend your time on, set aside your time with them and spending it together strengthens your bond with your children.
What I look forward to this year is taking my daughter golfing more. She is just old enough now to not make sand castles in the sand bunkers as we go around the course. We both are waiting patiently for spring to arrive so we can hit the course. While raising Ruby on my own we have great times and we have hard times. I have been blessed with an amazing girl who I cant wait to spend my time with everyday.
Your family and your love must be cultivated like a garden. Time, effort, and imagination must be summoned constantly to keep any relationship flourishing and growing. – Jim Rohn
