Shape Your Positivity

How often do we have a reality check on what our character says about you?  First impressions are the most important when meeting new people.  In the turf industry those people you will see you throughout your career as we are a tight-knit-community, so always let it be a great impression!  Here are some positive tips to think about this week:

Personal appearance:  Have a good look at how you dress, what do you think when you look in the mirror?  Personal style is a visual reflection of your own personality.  Each time you meet a potential employer there is an opportunity to show off your personality.  When attending a conference or a business meeting, always pay attention to the details of your wardrobe.  Always keep in mind people are already paying attention to you because you are female; they will respect you more when your attire is appropriate for the occasion.  I found Pinterest a great app for ideas to piece together a stunning business outfit. Looking confident exudes being confidence.

Attitude: I was once told, “Expect the unexpected”. Be prepared for the mishaps, they will happen, especially on a Friday afternoon.  When things go crazy remember to keep your cool. Take the lead in a positive tone and your situation will become a little easier.  You will carry attitude throughout your career and personal life.  This is a continuous area to build upon. Try and focus more on being a positive influence as others will admire you for that.

Being thankful: By leaving a thank-you note to the person(s) who have helped you along your journey show a gracious manner about you that they will remember.   Recognise what you have right now is important because you will enjoy and appreciate it more being thankful for it.  Challenge yourself by writing a gratitude journal of 3 new things everyday for 30 days that you are grateful for.  You will feel a positive difference in yourself.  Get creative I’d love to see what you do.

Have a fantastic week and let me know your thoughts on Shaping Your Positivity.  Leave a comment or question and I will get back to you as best I can.
