Sean discusses Indemnify as a non-traditional nematicide exhibiting a very low toxicity profile, with a half life of about 464 days. In fact, at it’s genesis, Fluopyram was coming to market as a fungicide but was found to have strong nematocidal properties. Indemnify is labeled as a fungicide in the SDHI class.

Indemnify has shown effective control of parasitic nematodes including sting and root knot with an immediate plant health response including production of white fibrous healthy root systems.

Sean talks about the use of an infrared camera, FLIR camera to measure canopy temperatures on both treated and control areas. Indemnify treated areas constantly showing cooler canopy temperatures.

Bayer has a goal of launching Indemnify for golf course superintendents and turf managers later this month in the state of Florida. Other states to follow in 2016. Although the overall positive effects of using Fluopyram is not completely known, current golf course superintendents are seeing very strong plant health responses.
